Come Down and Enjoy the Market
Celebrating its 20th year in 2010, the Broadway Market is Tacoma's oldest market. The market is considered one of the best in the region. Come down and you'll see why! From the critically acclaimed mix of vendors to the quality of the programming and atmosphere, Broadway is bound to make going local an enjoyable experience for you! Though Broadway isn't like many markets due to its shear size, two city blocks and 4,000-6,000+ people every Thursday, it still has the hometown atmosphere that has led the farmers market movement to resonate with some of our nation's best memories. So whether you're coming down from the office for lunch or bringing the kids down for kids activities and shopping local produce, you're guaranteed to have a great time!

Music at the Market
Who would think that one of the best venues to hear the best of the music Tacoma has to offer would be our downtown market? Come see for yourself! From Vicci Martinez to Humble Cub, Jam music to bluegrass, and everything in between. You might even catch a ballet performance from Tacoma City Ballet or a kids hip hop dance troupe from the DASH Center in Hilltop. Come check it out weekly down at Broadway! Directions
Downtown on Broadway Street, between 9th and 11th.

Driving: From I-5 North or South, take Exit 133 onto I-705 North toward City Center. Take the A Street Left Exit toward City Center. Turn left on South 11th Street and turn right on Broadway. The street is closed to vehicle traffic on market days.

Tacoma Link: Park your car at the Tacoma Dome Park and Ride - located at 25th Street and D Street and take the latest in transportation - the Tacome Link! It's free!

Pierce Transit: Leave the car (and your cares) behind you and take the bus.

Parking: There are two parking garages in the near vicinity of the Broadway market. the Rhodes Cneter garage entrance is located on 11th and Market streets. The Pierce Transit garage entrance is located on Commerce between 11th and 9th streets.

Live Cooking Demos Hosted by Chef Jasmine - 1st and 3rd Tuesday, of every month

Operating for its third year, the 6th Avenue Farmers Market will be open on Tuesdays June through September in the heart of the city’s entertainment district—The 6th Avenue District.

On Pine Street from 6th Ave to 7th Ave the market fills the streets, generating an enthusiasm and community spirit that is palpable, spilling over into neighborhood businesses. Reports from neighboring businesses show a considerable jump in sales on market days. Local residents openly enjoy the convenience of front door shopping and community gathering. Some fun statistics and facts for shoppers and potential partners:

  • Served 40 vendors and 2000 customers daily
  • Reported gross sales by vendors was over $150,000 for the season
  • 75% of customers spent an average of $20 at the market
  • Each dollar of sponsorship investment generates a multi-fold impact on local food producers which will only grow in future years ($0.68 /$1.00 stays here)
  • 60% of Farm Bill subsidies go to 10% of the largest corporate farms, whereas your sponsorship dollars help sustain our small local farmers
  • You can be proud to know that you are bringing fresher, healthier food to your community
  • You are helping to reduce the world’s carbon footprint
  • You are supporting educational events that help families relearn the ways of community living
